frame.
In the left-hand frame, we will describe Lighthouse's vision and how
Back2Earth built a Web Site that presented it.
THE VISION
The Image
Lighthouse Films, Inc. wanted to convey itself as a
company that combined the elements of business tradition and spiritual mysticism. It was essential for
Lighthouse's image that business integrity would not be compromised alongside a display of spiritual
values.
The Company's Objectives
Currently, Lightouse is searching for movie scripts with strong moral or spiritual principles.
Lighthouse is open to all writers, known or unknown, but requires a business professionalism in its
communications.
PRESENTING THE VISION
The Layout
The lighthouse graphic introduces the company's Web Site. It is an image of a historical lighthouse
resting in a pastoral setting. The strong feeling of traditionalism is united with mysticism with the
presence of bright and vibrant hues of violet that emanate from the lighthouse.
The effect of vibrant light shining from the traditional lighthouse conveys precisely the image of
professionalism and mysticism that Lighthouse was looking for.
The layout is simple and professional. The colors of the text are rich, yet add a contemporary element
to the overall impression.
Further down the page, the portrait of Lighthouse's president adds softness to the formal
professionalism of the Web Site. The portrait adds a human quality, which helps to make the
company approachable.
The Content
The information is business-like, in that it is concise and focused in its message. It is clear from the
text that Lighthouse is looking for scripts and taking in film treatments. Anyone who wishes to pursue
submitting a script is given clear, easy to follow directions.
If someone browsing the site wishes to learn more about the company and its president, they can click
to the second page. There are no additional requests or breezy commentary that might distract the
reader from the purpose of the Web Site.
Both pages on the Web Site include clearly marked links for people to email their comments and film
treatments.
